Being a kid shouldn’t include fighting FGIMDs. That’s why we roll up our sleeves and work for cures.
Why We Help Kids
Many children suffer with painful, disabling, and in some cases life-threatening functional GI and motility disorders (FGIMDs). The majority of these conditions progress into adulthood and become increasingly costly and difficult to manage. Watch this video, "A Cure 4Kids" about the Network.
In 2008, six of the foremost pediatric FGIMD researchers came together for a single purpose: to improve the quality of life for children with FGIMDs through collaborative research studies. As a result of this ongoing cooperative effort, a consensus pediatric FGIMD research agenda has been established that emphasizes research projects focused on improving diagnosis and treatment of childhood FGIMDs. In addition, the DHA Children’s GI Research Network was formed to effectively carry out these research projects and advance scientific understanding of pediatric FGIMDs in an organized and systematic way.
The Network is currently executing projects designed to improve diagnosis and treatment of FGIMDs in children. See what our Network is doing, and how you can make a difference.
