Halfway and Going Strong

June 10, 2013

Since The Functional Gastrointestinal & Motility Disorders Research Enhancement Act of 2013 (H.R. 842) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on February 26, 2013, digestive health advocates from across the country have spoken out in loud support of this critical bill. As of today, over 50% of Representatives have heard from a constituent about H.R. 842!

Thank you to everyone who has taken action so far!

It is important to keep up this good work. Many Representatives still have not been contacted by a constituent about The FGIMD Research Enhancement Act. Your Representative hearing about H.R. 842 is the first step toward them becoming a cosponsor of this important legislation.  Thousands of bills are introduced in Congress every year, but your support can help H.R. 842 stand out from all the rest.  If you have not done so already, contact your Representative about The Functional GI & Motility Disorders Research Enhancement Act to make sure they know it matters to their constituents and that it should matter to them too.

Even those Representatives who have been contacted about H.R. 842 need to continue to hear from their constituents about the severity of FGIMDs and the importance of taking action for the patients and families who live with these disorders every day. If you have already reached out to your Representative, encourage your friends and family to join you in speaking out for all of those affected by functional GI and motility disorders.  Our strength is in numbers and together we will work to see that this bill becomes law.
